Our Team
Dr. Joseph Steyr
Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Joseph Steyr is a Naturopathic Doctor, Co-Founder and the Medical Director at Greystones Health.
Dr. Steyr uses a functional medicine approach in his practice, meaning he looks for the root cause of the health concern in order to provide a deep and long lasting solution for his patients. Dr. Steyr has extensive additional training in the science of functional medicine and is regularly reviewing current medical research. He sees his career as the perfect union between modern medicine and traditional knowledge. He brings a blend of conventional medical sciences and traditional health philosophies into his practice, which allows him to see a person’s health from multiple points of view.
He sees himself not only as a doctor, but also as an educator – with so much conflicting medical information, he educates his patients on all treatment options to ensure he and his patients can make the best informed decisions together for the patients’ health.
Dr. Steyr treats a variety of conditions such as fertility and hormone regulation, stress, endometriosis, menstrual irregularities, menopause support, mental health, low energy, depression, anxiety, IBS, food intolerances, digestive problems, and men’s health conditions.
An initial appointment with Dr. Steyr includes an in-depth medical history, a physical examination, review of recent lab tests (or the discussion about future lab testing), and an individualized treatment plan. Dr. Steyr works in a team approach with our nutritionist to help ensure patients have the dietary supported needed to achieve success with their treatment plan. While Dr. Steyr may use nutritional supplements to help boost a patient’s recovery time, his real emphasis is on dietary and lifestyle changes that will help support healing for the long-term.
Dr. Steyr is a graduate of Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and is registered with the College of Naturopaths Ontario.
Michelle Heighington
Registered Holistic Nutritionist
I am a holistic nutritionist with over 15 years of experience helping patients to make healthy dietary and lifestyle changes for better health. While I’ve always had a passion for nutrition, I’ve wanted to offer more to my patients, so in 2021 I decided it was time to go back to school and become a naturopathic doctor. I am currently in my final year at CCNM. Although I cannot practice yet as a naturopathic doctor, I bring the knowledge I have learned into my nutrition appointments so that I can better understand each patient’s unique health concerns.
The areas that I have a special interest in are digestive issues, women’s health (menstrual concerns and menopause), weight management, and dietary cancer support (prevention and post treatment). I am particularly passionate about helping women to ease into menopause and can support them through diet and lifestyle to help reduce symptoms such as brain fog, fatigue, hot flashes, and more.
I also believe a pillar of health is how we manage stress, and so I work with my patients to come up with a customized plan for stress management that works with their lifestyle. Having previously worked in the corporate world, I am familiar with the impacts that stress can have on our bodies (and hormones), and so I believe this is a key component to supporting great health.
When working with me you can expect to be a key part of the treatment planning process. I want to educate and empower my patients to make the best and most realistic decisions for their health that work within their lifestyle. I will also provide you with a diet plan, recipes, or any other type of support that you need to meet your health goals.

Dr. Francesca Reis
Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Reis decided to pursue a career in medicine to help as many people as she can achieve and maintain healthy lives. Dr. Reis started as a Medical Doctor studying in the UK.
She left that path as she felt that it didn’t allow for enough discussion about prevention, diet and lifestyle changes. She believes that health is truly wealth, and that our lives are more enjoyable when we are in a state of optimal health. Now Dr. Reis combines training as both a Medical Doctor and Naturopathic Doctor to get the best results for all her patients.
Dr. Reis has a strong focus on diet and nutrition. She believes in the power of food as medicine to help prevent and fight disease. Making long-term dietary changes are not easy, but the patients she works with are committed to making these changes to improve their health. Using this approach in practice Dr. Reis has seen great results. Dr. Reis focuses on a few key health concerns:
Digestive issues such as IBS, Colitis, Crohn’s, and chronic gas, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. Weight loss Mental health such as depression and anxiety Sleep and energy, such as burnout and insomnia Brain fog and poor mental focus Reversing fatty liver disease, Hormonal health, women's health and menopause support.
Along with a primary focus on dietary changes, Dr. Reis also uses lifestyle changes, supplements, and acupuncture as supportive treatments. She creates personalized treatment plans and provides education for her patients but believes in patients taking an active role in their own health journey, as this helps ensure lasting outcomes. She looks forward to working with you on your path to a healthier life!
Dr. Reis is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, licensed through the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, and a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND). Montana Vascotto
Registered Psychotherapist
Acting as a compassionate culturally sensitive, client-centered therapist, Montana's goal is to establish an
environment of stability, trust, safety, and non-judgement. I have a genuine interest in humankind, alongside a passion for mental health advocacy. While no one questions a physical ailment that is addressed when it persists to cause injury, mental health challenges that are similarly debilitating, are less often prioritized, and addressed in primary care. Consequently, many may suppress and hide their struggle to function. As Ernest Hemingway so articulately wrote: “you are so brave and quiet I forget you are suffering”. Choosing to pursue therapy is no less brave than silencing the suffering. Therapy is a way to release and understand the internal conflict that can cycle within your thoughts, unresolved. Reigning in these bothersome symptoms will help in better functioning, and in fact, flourishing, thereby increasing your feelings of well being. The past two years have been especially taxing for all of us, leaving many of us feeling stalled in our previous trajectories, and perhaps struggling to navigate the financial, emotional, and mental challenges that have emerged. This can make it feel like reaching your potential is less achievable.
My focus will be to assist you in discovering and nurturing your strengths so that you are better able to take charge of the areas of your life that feel challenging. Alongside skills-building, there will also be a space to identify your blind spots, or areas of growth. Each person’s path to realizing their potential is unique to them. Hence, your journey to well-being will evolve specific to you! Together we will explore and utilize appropriate approaches that may include one or more therapies: for example, cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT); Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) Narrative Therapy; or Solution-focused Therapy.
I will draw from previous experience in clinical settings at the Thompson Anxiety Clinic at Sunnybrook Health Sciences; Mental Health Department at North York General Hospital; and the Cognition and Psychopathology research lab at Ryerson University, to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you, and to assist you in reaching a positive outcome.
If you feel like you are functioning, but not really flourishing; let’s get started!
Some areas of concern we can address are:
- Mood and Depression
- Anxiety Disorders
- Stress Managemen
- PTSD and Trauma
- Grief and loss
- Self esteem challenges
- Eating disorders
